Carefully take apart the Oreo's and save the tops for something else. Unwrap all of those kisses!.
Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips in 2 teaspoons of shortening (I melted our in the microwave). Dip the cherries into the melted chocolate. Place it on an Oreo and attached a kiss to the cherry. Stick two sliced almonds between them for ears.
Use the red gel for eyes and use the red and green to make a little holly leaf on the cookie.
This recipe will use an entire jar of cherries (about 24).
Those are so adorable! I plan to make them for Christmas!
