My Craft Room

Here's a picture of my craft room.


One day I hope to be able to move everything out, spend 100's of dollars on storage and actually get it organized.


My main problem is I don't want to have to get up to get something once I sit so everything needs to be within reach (makes for a very crowded desk!!.

I keep all of my stamp pads in an old wooden cassette tape holder. My husband fixed it to the wall so I wouldn't have to worry about it falling over.


Here's a picture of a cabinet that my dad made for me. Originally is was designed to hold loose stamps so the smaller drawers on top hold one row of wood mounted stamps or 81/2 X x paper. It's about 5 feet tall! I love it!!

Mirror Image

I love this technique. It is super easy and looks great!!

All you need are your stamps, ink, paper, and a piece of acetate (overhead transparencies).

Stamp your image on your cardstock, reink and stamp on the acetate.

Turn the acetate over (so the ink is down), link up with the image you stamped on the cardstock, carefully place the acetate down and gently rub.

You get a perfect mirror image!!

When I colored this one I used a light touch for the snowmen on the ice.

Tag Card

Here is something I made a couple of years ago. I made each tag individually and then "hooked" them together with a punch from my word window punch. I think next time I would use one sheet of paper but I originally was going to do something else so this is what I ended up with. I do like the way it turned out though.

Infinite Goodness

After spending the last year or so adding more and more embellishments onto my cards and projects, I've decided to get back to basics!!

This card was very simple. Cardstock colors are (all Stampin' Up!), Confetti White, Pretty in Pink and Always Artichoke. Ink colors are Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip. I also used Always Artichoke eyelets, stampin dimensionals, and a white pen. I used Stampin' Up's! new Infinite Goodness stamp set.

I stamped the berries on the Artichoke cs using Artichoke ink. I then highlighted each berries with white ink.

After stamping the phrase in Artichoke on Confetti White, I sponged the edges in Chocolate Chip and then ran the edges through the Artichoke ink pad.

I then attached eyelets to the phrase piece and attached that to the stamped piece with stampin' dimensionals.

Next I attached the Always Artichoke cs to a piece of Pretty in Pink and attached that to the Confetti White card.

I really like to clean look this card has. You can click on the picture to see a larger image.

Milk Carton Box

I hope that everyone had a great Christmas. It's now time to move on to the next holiday...Valentine's Day!! One of my favorte holidays!

Here is a fun box that you can make. You can make these feminine or masculine, depending on the paper and embellishments that you use. The pattern can be adjusted to any size that your printer can print.

You can also use this pattern for birthdays and other special occasions!!

Pyramid Box Pattern

Here is the pattern for my pyramid box that I had on my blog awhile ago. You can enlarge this and print any size your printer will handle. If this doesn't work for you please email me and I will send you a pdf file.

The words on the flap say to fold outside edges to close box. What I meant to say was to fold the flaps, not the outside edges.

It's actually a very simple box. You cut the outside edges and fold everything else.!!

Glass Etching

This is a candle tray that I made. I was actually trying for a darker etch but was worried that something was going wrong and stopped the process too early. The little yellow flecks are actually on our desk, not on the tray.

You'll need some kind of glass, flat works best for stamping. Armor etch, latex gloves, clear embossing powder, heat tool.

Wash and dry your glass (since I used a tray that's what I'll call it from now on). If you are going to be using your tray for serving food, you want to etch the other side, not the food side.

Pick what design you want. Something with lots of details or fine lines doesn't work very well. You want something a little solid.

Emboss just as you would for paper. If you accidentally slip, just wash it off and start over. Then emboss. This took me a bit longer that I thought it would. I guess the glass had to heat up too.

After you have it embossed, get your gloves on and your armor etch. After that you will need to follow whatever directions are on your etching compound. When the etching is complete, just wash it off and then scrape off the embossing powder to leave a clear image.

When it's done and dry you have a one of a kind gift to give or keep! I'm making a couple with a Christmas design, fill the plate with cookies and give it to our schools secretaries.

Fantasy Box

This is one of those projects that is fairly simple but gets rave reviews!! The main thing here is to take it easy and go step by step. You can get all of the instructions at the website listed below. You can do just about anything you can think of to close the box, I used a little turny thing here but I've also used ribbon and velcro.



I was very surprised how easy it was to place the "shelves" so the box would close. My only suggestion would be that when you are initially laying the box out, after you placed your stamped or printed paper over the chipboard or heavy cardboard, fold the box before the glue dries and let it dry folded. I tore my first box because I let it dry flat and then tried to fold it.

I love these colors together! These are two of Stampin' Up's! new In Color's for 2007/2008, Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate.

It doesn't seem to matter what type of card I'm making, it always turns out great!

I also used the new ticket corner punch and double stitched ribbon, also in Purely Pomegranate.

I used the So Swirly wheel on this card so it went together super fast!
